I grew up in Bogotá, Colombia and always loved animation. As I got older, I taught myself the basics of animation and eventually attended Animation Mentor, where I studied character animation. My hard work paid off and I was featured in the school's showreel and won the "Mentor's Choice Award." I even had the opportunity to work with one of my idols, Carlos Baena, on "La Noria," which has won over 100 awards worldwide. I have also had the opportunity to work with studios such as Agora Studio, Neko Productions, and Ember Lab, animating characters like The Hulk and Iron Man for the show "What If." Some of the projects I have worked on can be found on platforms like Disney+ and Paramount+.
I have been fortunate to have a successful career in animation, but I have seen the difficulties faced by Latin American animators. I think web development could be a powerful tool to bridge the remaining barriers in the animation industry. With this in mind, I learned web development to create tools such as CLAP (Connect Like a Professional), SALPICON, and ELA (Escuela Latinoamericana de Animación) to help artists overcome the same challenges that I faced so they have more opportunities to create a successful career.
